Gainesville has its first case, a patient up at the UF Medical Center. Classes at UF have been cancelled on campus and everyone ordered to move to online classes as of tomorrow morning. I wonder if the Leu Gardens sale in Orlando will go on as scheduled this weekend

I am so sorry to hear that, Gina. We have 2 cases down here in Volusia County, but our County officials are telling us where they are.

NBA has suspended games...
NCAA.... playing, but no spectators...😳
Tom Hanks, and his wife, in Australia, tested positive....
🤯
Thank goodness they were in Australia and were able to get tested!
If they had been in America, they may not have been tested, or been able to even get a test!

Also President Trump has put a ban on travel to Europe.

This is affecting employment, my husband works the Magic games as his part time retirement job, not a big deal for us, but for many it is. My son is a party planner for a huge catering company in Orlando, several events have been cancelled/postponed due to the virus, this is one of his busy seasons. So far no one has cancelled weddings, which is good, but with travel bans that could change.

Gina, hope your husband can still work...Not sure about the plant sale, it is outdoors, so hoping that makes a difference. One thing is parking is a Royal Pain, and it can get really crowded as the day goes on...maybe it won't be so crowded. Whistling

It looks like I may not be going to Leu. That's ok, but I only hope that they don;t decide to cancel Kanapaha here the 21 and 22.
Whoever thought that this mess would affect our PLANT HOBBY?
(That's naive I know)
I am always in semi-self quarantine anyway. My husband and I have a small circle of friends we see, but I don't pal around with people on an everyday basis. The most people I am usually exposed to at any given time is at the grocery or at the gym. I quit going to the gym 2 weeks ago when all this started (I typically skip until flu season is over anyway...I never get the vaccine...the absolute worst place you can be in flu season is in a huge building with a couple hundred people breathing OUT a lot and touching all the equipment). I have been lifting weights, doing barre workouts and walking 4-6 miles a day instead. My hip and achilles tendonitis are in a flare and I can;t run at the moment.

I am really looking forward to Kanapaha, hope it still goes on

I just saw our good friends on vacation in Portugal have to get back by Friday midnight, they're trip has refunded the money but they are scrambling to find a flight back, so far they booked but not confirmed coming back at 2K each to MIA.

Funny I don't go to the gym in flu season either. This time of year I enjoy walking instead.

The ban is on travel from Europe not including the U.K.

Leu Gardens website says the sale is still on. My husband and I were supposed to go to a local brewery Friday, his old blues band was getting together to throw a surprise birthday for one of the members and they rented the back part with a stage and were going to play for 3 hours but it got CANCELLED because of this

I'm just back from a month in Panama and am amazed at the panic. I'm an hour out of Seattle, which has been hard hit, but sheesh. Schools and businesses are closed, the roads are empty, it's a weird world. Stay safe, but also stay sane...

The unknown is always scary and the extended incubation period is unsettling. We could all have been exposed and might not know it for weeks. Spouse and I are in our late 70's, we are not isolating ourselves but I have postponed things like doctors appts. for non essentials like check ups. Our grandchildren are visiting from AZ this week. They flew in last Friday and who knows what they might have picked up on the plane. All we can do is hope and wash our hands - a lot!

They really should check people temps before entering at every lab, hospital, and clinic. Also hearing quest and labcorps will be doing tests now is nuts. They will expose people in their little lobbies to the illness when people come to get tested.

I bought extra dogfood and zone bars for my dogs and husband today LOL. And extra Ezekiel sprouted grain English muffins and Amy's veg burgers for me. We have plant of beer and wine, I think we'll make it through. We live out in the six, if my husband didn't actually work up at the UF Dept of Medicine I would feel a lot better

Here is how it got political. Usual liberal BS. I guess the author is an authority. We should be pulling together as Americans, not ripping apart.
