While out looking to see where I want too plants some stuff this wee, I see that there's one stalk of Verbascum blattaria that didn't quite die over Winter and has managed to put out a couple of sweet blooms...likewise, there's a Verbascum Governor George Aiken that did not really die down through Winter and is blooming...love the Verbascums...all of them....

and last year it put on some leaves

Thumb of 2020-03-24/Strever/76da69

I think your Oakleaf looks more colorful than mine, Dick. I was so happy to see new growth on mine, they were looking really dead....they're never really great, probably could use more sun also, but nowhere else to put them....and I've also planted several more hydrangeas along there where they'll not get enough sun either...sigh....

Dick, I'm pretty sure that you have a lot that I don't have.....lol..I think that's different Skunk Cabbage than I've seen before....? Was reading in Del Norte Natives this week about Skunk Cabbage, need to go back and read again, something about a rise in temperature......You have such a different situation on your property...forest, where I have small, sunny lot....I do know that I would not be able to take care of larger than this as I'm aging...lol..

I don't mind 'staying home', we usually do anyway (except that I wish I had gotten up to the Brookings art supply store)...once again, I will spend the Summer trying to catch up with all that needs doing...did cut back some of the grasses today and this last week...but...

True, but there are so many things I love that just don't survive our erratic weather, and watering needs. I plant them hopefully, but they end up being annuals here.
