No water ban but restrictions. Problem is the heat, it never stops and the ground is hard baked and the water pools on top and doesn't soak. My pots are mostly fine, it's just the beds that have suffered. The city supplies our water and it's about the most expensive utility here, but there's no other source right here in this little town.

Now if I could figure out how to siphon water from the river which is only about a mile and a half away . . . of course it's pretty low as well, so that might not help at all.

I can tell by looking, though, most of my plants are simply dormant.

Many of my plants go dormant in the summer. We could use some rain, but probably won't get any for a few more weeks. Anything over an inch is a "wet" month, usually May and November.
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.

I got a little rain last night. Not much but any little drop helps. That makes maybe 2 inches since very early spring. Not enough to get us out of the drought worries.
