Thread OP
South Florida
Hi, I inherited a house in south Florida and am learning about lawn care. I find these plants all over and thought they were a weed. Ie smooth crabgrass. They have runners. But now I'm wondering if they are really St Augustine grass which also has runners. I was only familiar with single blade grass for lawns. Can anybody help me identify the difference? I pulled up a bunch. I hope I didn't mess up. Thanks!

That is the evil and despicable Dallisgrass. Very invasive and very difficult to control, good luck. Unfortunately chemical control is the only option and glyphosate is the only choice. Unlesssssss you want to pull it by hand. Sighing!
