Pulled the netting and leaves off today, happy to see the semps are ready to go for the spring.

Great looking considering where you live! I see some pill bugs. You can spread a little diatomaceous earth around. What plant is in the second photo?

Thanks for the heads up on the pill bug. The second plant is Lewisia

RJ looks great!! Funny I thought they were spanish bluebells which are weeds here in Seattle, and my first reaction was, oh oh that's going to be a problem! Rolling on the floor laughing
Glad they aren't those! And wow what a pretty lewisia! Hurray! I tip my hat to you.

Rj, what a beautiful sight. And the bird netting seems to have trapped a lot of leaves for easy clean up. Hurray!

Thanks, the Lewisia are great plants they enjoy the same conditions as semps. The netting does make it easier, never used to do it but the neighbor's semp beds got destroyed by squirrels!

I grow this Lewisia in my semp beds. This one blooms most of the growing season if I deadhead it.
Have you shared your bird netting success with your neighbor?

I'm going to try that on my Lewisia this year, was kind of hoping it would self seed! Unfortunately after her semps got wiped out she went on to other things, I did mention it to her.

Amazing the change in color in just 6 days, and a little bit of warmth, of course its going back to 36/22 rain, snow and rain tomorrow.

All the up and down in the weather can sure make it hard on some of these little guys.
