So many knowledgeable people are here that I'll risk being a pest to ask for more help Rolling my eyes. I am interested in most of the daylily colors and forms, and hope to launch a post requesting your 'brainstorms' once a day for the next couple of weeks.

Your thoughtfulness may help other newcomers who are not yet ready to jump into the deep end of the pool without some helpful guidance. They'll be able to search and find some great suggestions to get their new addiction rolling. Lovey dubby Any thoughts or details on what you admire most about your recommended daylilies are most welcome!

What are the lushest, best performing, most pleasing, older (highly affordable) pink daylilies that have graced your gardens? Group hug

I have several pinks growing in my garden but if I had to pick a favorite it would be San Ignacio. It stands tall, well above the folage, with large blooms and lots of buds.It is pod fertile as I did some breeding with it this year. I dont know about the pollen thoughThumb of 2012-08-31/petalsnsepals/0398f2 I also like Persistant Lady.

Beautiful daylilies! Rolling my eyes. I'm liking Persistent Lady for her wonderful pedigree and performance, including blooms that start EM and rebloom into ML/L, and she's produced some great offspring. San Ignacio may have a more complicated pedigree that would help me see the wide variety of offspring that can result! Thanks!

Pink Lemonade Party is outstanding for me and is still blooming and putting up new scapes. Wonderful pink color, not melon colored.

Here is a photo of PLP from my garden earlier this summer.

Gee, I can't think of a single pink Tet in my garden other than Munson's SPODE and my own REMEMBERING MISS MARTHA, although that one does turn peach in hot sun.

You ladies are AWESEOME! Group hug And thanks for the pictures, they are really amazing daylilies ...

Pink Lemonade Party is so wonderfully ruffly - more ruffles than I've ever seen before! and, though a 'newer' cultivar, still very affordable for bargain hunters. yummy!
Spode is an absolute match for me, the kind of performance, pedigree and mid-late season that is so hard to find when sorting through 80,000 cultivars, and so very affordable *happy sigh*
Remembering Miss Martha is pretty-Pretty-PRETTY! I guess I'll have to really start watching the daylily auction site for her (or seeds from her?), because I'm especially drawn to lighter eyes :} ... i would love to know who Miss Martha was...

Tina, here are a couple of my favorite pinks -- and they're both dips! They're both pretty pastel in our heat, but they are true clear pinks and I really love them both.

I got both of these from Marietta Gardens and they were very reasonably priced.

Pinks are my favorite!

Avedon, I think that looks like my Jolyene Nichole. I love the bloom and color, and it never melts for me, but it's so short that I have been unhappy about it. I don't know if that is normal, but I've got several clumps of it, both in the front yard and the back, and it blooms exactly the same in all the clumps. I'd be thrilled to death if it was taller! It's so gorgeous though! I'd love to know how tall the scapes are for you. Most of mine are only about 6 to 12 inches!

I think my favorite old pink is Fairy Tale Pink. Sorry, but I can't find a picture of mine right now. I think it's one of the most perfect daylilies. It's not too fancy, but it always looks fantastic. Catherine Woodbery is another great pink. I can't find my picture of this one either.

Here are some of my other favorite older ones.

Barbara Mitchell

I love Bama Music too! It's so cute!

Sue Rothbauer is another good one for me that is super fertile, both pod and pollen.

Song Writer is new to me this year, and was gorgeous. Not the best bloom in the photo, but it really was beautiful.

Shores of Time and Cotton Candy Carnival are two other older beautiful pink daylilies. CCC isn't fancy but is totally awesome in a clump. If you look it up in the database, mine looks like the photo posted by California Sue.

What a bevy of beauties ... by all means, if you have more to share, the merrier it is! From the profoundly touching remembrance of a special woman, to an unnamed mysterious cutie in pink, and all points between - they each have a very special role to play in the garden palette. Group hug All the extra info is deeply appreciated, from what colors may shade to what, how a cultivar does in your own garden, and how it came to be yours.

I think my favorite pink is now Fred's (Spunky1) LILLIAN'S JINGER BRED. What a beauty!
Here it is in sunlight and in shade.

Thumb of 2012-09-01/Betja/ac6fbd

BELLE COOK - Another beautiful pink!

LESLIE RENEE - If you look up this one in the database you'll see that for most people it is a brighter coral pink, but in Bakersfield it is much more pastel.
