ok, let me start the discussion....

anyone new to the forum should read these stickies and do not ask any stupid questions because we are to busy.

stickies are a good way to fill a page with stuff you are not interested in.

seems like stickies never go away, even if they are not viewed

stickies were invented at the same time as the internet... i was there!

stickies were converted to ads (think facebook), but not here where we have both:)

What are stickies? I only view this site on my iPhone, so I might not be seeing them.

The Stickies are there as the first few entries when looking at the main Peony Forum page but they aren't obtrusive for me, what do they look like to you guys?

Stickies house educational information related to peony propagation so that when people come across the peony area, some basic information can be accessed and found rather easily. Some basic information can be buried in threads and more difficult to find which is why it was decided to place those as stickies.

I see what stickies are. Sorry for misunderstanding. I think it's good to have them as a general information.

I generally agree with Frank that newbies need their own sources on the forum, otherwise we will be overwhelmed with the same topics once each new member is going to ask why the thing is not blooming or asks for ID. Actually, I think forum could be somehow divided with folders for different purposes and may be Q&A folder added.

I did verify with Dave that folders are still not an option, as several years back now I had inquired about that potential.

Stickies are what there is to use and having basic information somewhere easy to find can be useful, especially to the novice.

I suppose that a sticky could be useful for general info to a newbie. However, starting peonies from seed and grafting are not exactly newbie topics.

So your wish Frank are for these two educational areas to be removed?

Actually, the first sticky could contain the info from stickies 2,3 and 4.

However, my comments were made for discussion, not direction.

I think all information in the current stickies is very useful for anybody and easy to get whenever needed.

Thoughts of combining areas can make sense if there weren't threads of conversation already for the peony information it may work but that particular area is meant for member information to be added as they are recognized or found valuable. I personally have taken a lot of the suggestions suggested by others over the years in that area.

Thanks, Frank. I am thinking of trying to do a graft, and wanted to know what time of the year to do it.
