My grafting tutorial should exist somewhere because it was a feature several years back. I did not remove that information nor was I told it was going to disappear. Perhaps it was placed somewhere else I am unaware of.

Thank you. One would need to dig this info out, and with stickies it was so easy to see it. It is not information for every day but still important for anybody to try these methods.

My understanding is that management (was described as an "intern") here did a "cleanup" by unstickying all of the stickies. Since the stickies are actually threads they are still here, they have simply drifted down as new threads were piled on top. They haven't disappeared.

As moderator of the Lily Forum I saw this happen and quickly grabbed what I thought was the most important one, links to the RHS Lily Registers.
It seems like one sticky could give links to former stickies and even include a link to Tracey's article on grafting, the thread to seed starting etc...

One problem with stickies is that folks continue post to them as in regular threads. It might be a good idea to make the sticky then close additional posting to the thread. Also, too many of them is bad because people have to scroll down to get past them.

Thanks for letting us know what happened, Connie. Was wondering why they disappeared!

Thanks Connie. Usually when they make a change like that, somehow there is a notification. I thought maybe I missed it since I'm not always great at reading the weekly newsletters.

You would think that at least the moderators would be notified...

I don't read the weekly newsletter at all, but someone posted on the Site Talk Forum which I do watch. Stickies were discussed alot when we first started building this site. Some like them and others hate them. We moderators have an option of putting information on the right side of the forum posts but I have long forgotten how to do that.

The Sempervivum Forum is a good example of showing what this would look like. Notice it just provides links to the important threads/articles:

I actually like the look of that. I like the thought of having the ability to link somehow, directly and easily to education topics. It's an important part of each specific forum.
