Thanks everyone! We have several on our property; different species and they bloom at different times. Our four big cherry trees in the back of our property bloom early February around here. Shrug!

I have to say that some of Hugh Stout's SDB's really like it here. By far the most prolific grower is Fruit At The Bottom.

It started on March 28th:
Thumb of 2020-04-07/Lestv/bdf7ea Thumb of 2020-04-07/Lestv/ed2028

and kept on blooming: Thumb of 2020-04-07/Lestv/985d21

then just went crazy: (Open to see it all)

and as of today, April 7th it still is putting up more blooms. Wow!

On the opposite end of the growing spectrum I have my cute little Muggles. In one garden they were all bunched together:
Thumb of 2020-04-07/Lestv/1c2235

and in another garden it just bloomed one bloom at a time: Thumb of 2020-04-07/Lestv/55d6aa

Rainbow Rim started on March 28th too and is still slowly putting up blooms. I really like this iris, got it from a cheese country NGA-er.

Another with real longevity this year is Shindig (another northern transplant). It has really performed well for me.

And on March 29th I had my first TB bloom. A Burseen (what a surprise, no?!!) called Global Warmer. I got a real kick out of it's name perfectly explaining why blooms are starting earlier around here.

Wow! Fruit at the Bottom is quite the overachiever! Hilarious!

Your photos are terrific. Global Warmer is so pretty! Let me know how it does for you. Thinking Kula and Shindig would be pretty planted with Antique Shades, and Muggles with Honeybee. Lovey dubby (Glad they're finally performing for you!!)

Fruit at the Bottom...If it did that well for you, it needs a home here! I'll have to search and see if I can find a vendor that has it.

I wonder how much of a difference two(?) zones makes. Zone 7a versus Zone 8a.

Since there is a Carolina thread....

A good friend moved to Boone, NC a couple years ago and I sent her a box of rhizomes last summer. She sent me this photo, of her first iris blooming today, SDB 'What Again'.

Monty - best bet is to go to the source for Fruit at the Bottom, which is Stout's Gardens.

Casey - the violas really started kicking in after the freeze in Feb led to warm temps in March. The up and down temps this winter probably messed them up a bit.

Scott, yep, Boone is definitely part of our neighborhood. I would be interested to hear how her other iris do. Since she is in the mountains she will have a more temperate Spring.

Love What Again! It's in one of my carts this year. Thank you for posting the pic Scott! I tip my hat to you.

Few more blooms at the end of March.

My Antique Shades violas and the other violas and pansies I planted/started from seed are doing great. Honeybee bloomed it's little head off while Leslie's slept and not looking so great right now.

Leslie I'm also a sucker for violets so cute and so many lovely iris! I think Fruit at the bottom and Teagun are my favorites. The orange azalea is lovely too. When I was in college they had an orange and a yellow variety right outside the art building. The grounds at PLU we're amazing! so many fabulous plants.

Fruit was mine, those gorgeous azaleas were Casey's. We have had really warm days followed by cold days over and over. At the beginning bof every warm period everything blooms like crazy. So behind as iris are popping everywhere!

Casey, do those citation marks in 'My NoID I "rescued" from a neighbor's yard mean it was the good old over-the-fence-in-the-middle-of-the-night iris-marauder-style kind of 'rescue'?? Big Grin
