I keep thinking of the little goblins who will be Trick or Treating on October 31.... it will STILL be hot! Chocolate candies will melt. Boo HOO!!!!! Crying

I read a bit about what we're supposed to be doing to get the garden ready for the beginning of our Winter Spring. Rolling on the floor laughing Sweat and toil in September to ready the weed from Monsoon growth, enhance and amend the soil (dig down 12-18 inches to enhance drainage and root development). Yea, right. My pitch fork will not go further than 3 inches into this clay. Add sulfur to amend sodium accumulation. Before planting add nitrogen and phosphorous. Lightly trim hybrid roses, feed citrus. Take a trip to your favorite nursery and plant the pretties. Water and wait for Winter freeze. I know. Grumbling My brain is still ablaze.

My quilting may continue into November before I get out and do some garden work.

You? I'm all ears! Thumb of 2012-09-02/Aguane/ebbffa

I am sooooo looking forward to fall!! Hurray! This has been a brutal humid summer but at least we have had a better monsoon. Thumbs up Parts of Tucson got over an inch of rain this afternoon, but not a drop here. Supposed to be more chances for rain this week. Big Grin The garden is tired and so is the gardener ! Hilarious!

I can't wait for fall. Hurray!

Today I am so bummed. Someone stole a large pothos right off my front porch. Thumbs down Thumbs down As I said on facebook, I just do not understand how someone steals something that is not theirs. I mean, what part of their brain thinks its okay and keeps them from feeling guilty?????

Grrrrrr and a little bit of sadness today. I won't put anymore out there and now I am feeling like I need to make sure my back patio is secure. But those plants aren't as pretty. The pothos was beautiful and I will not buy another one until I have my own home again. I do have some indoors still where they will remain.

Angry That is so wrong Becky !!! So sorry for the lose of your beautiful plant ! Group hug I also have never been able to understand how someone can take something that is not theirs. The guilt would kill me if I did something like that !!! Sad

IT'S BEEN POURING FOR A LONG TIME TODAY AND RIGHT NOW, AT 8:53, IT'S 79 DEGREES. Soooooo refreshing. One thunderclap woke me up and another one about 30 minutes ago sounded like a gun shot in my driveway!

As long as it doesn't drop into the 50s and even snow. It has been known to happen in September.

The trees are beginning to turn. Am planning a couple of leaf peeping tours later in Sept and early Oct.

This was last year

Love those fall pictures, Marilyn! Thumbs up I miss fall so much. We have a few things that change color but nothing like a real fall. Crying Speaking of snow, I was just visiting with my friend Margaret in British Columbia and she had just had some snow, sent photos of her yard covered with it. Smiling

Marilyn, I am with Linda...the 60's sound heavenly. Lovey dubby

It's poring again tonight. Last night was "ONE-OF-THOSE" amamzing thunder and lightening storms that scared you every time the boom-crack crack-boom-came!

Tonight is hard rain and wind but so far no thunder and ligtening.

My friend who lives in southern Iceland said they have snow in Northern Iceland ... knocked out electrical service all day and into tomorrow. A real black out. Nothing like it since 1995. Blinking

I'll be anxious to hear if Becky just experienced what I did. One of the worst/best downpours/rain/wind I've ever seen in Phoenix.

I was in class across town and missed the entire blast, Susie. Interestingly, becasue my balcony faces east, not a thing was blown away. But the front stairwell had water up to the neighbors doors when I got home. It faces west.

This is such a big deal right now for me:

Thumb of 2012-09-19/Boopaints/eebb4d

One little bloom on my former morning glory that bloomed profusely at my old home. It's in a pot, on my balcony and I refused to give up.
