We got a 10 oz. wildflower bag from Jolly Lane Nursery (a pretty awesome nursery nearby) with 50 different wildflowers in it. I spread them around the property a few weeks ago, and they're now popping up. Unfortunately, some of the seedlings are already being attacked by aphids. I think I sowed enough for it not to matter, though.

Oh wow, Blue Eyed Mary is a very pretty little wildflower!! Lovey dubby Don't think I've seen it before.

Johannian, on the bright side, maybe the aphids will attract some ladybugs. I know they do here, I've seen it happen many times! So fun to find the ladybug larvae and then the ladybugs. They will definitely keep those aphids under control. Thumbs up

We actually do have a lot of ladybugs during the summer, I forgot about them. Hopefully they do keep the aphids under control!

Nice! The first one looks like what we call Texas Yellow Star... don't know the botanical name. Love them!

Thank you, Johannian. Smiling They really are showy; that one caught my eye from quite a distance.

Wondering, is it just me? I see that the photo upload has changed since Dave made changes to the site. It seems to be taking a long time for them to upload. Anyone else noticing this issue?

I wish we had native coreopsis. We do have some mini sunflowers, but they're not in bloom yet.

Yes, he changed the photo uploading system. It takes just as long as before for me, but then again I've always had bad internet out here in the boonies so it might have changed for you but stayed the same for me.

Thank you for your answer, Johannian. I guess now that the site is more Iphone friendly, the overall site is slower due to more traffic. Like the small town bringing in condos... it's never the same after that. Whistling Hilarious!

We have satellite internet out here in the boonies. It's pretty good as long as it's not raining. Smiling

It's actually more the problem of getting someone out here to set it up. A lot of people don't want to come out here to work.

That yellow Texas star sure is pretty!
My bluebonnets are setting seeds now. I would love to get some Indian paintbrush seeds if someone have some to share.

The Hebertia reminds me of a Calochortus. We used to have so many Mariposas growing natively in CA:

There aren't any over here, unfortunately.

@gardengus, cinda, I have to tell you the story of the herbertia. They appeared in my parents back lawn; I was visiting them when I see these lovely cute blue blooms on the lawn. I got my mom's shovel and began digging, the bulbs bury themselves very deep down! I only got maybe one or two bulbs out but they have since multiplied in my garden. I collect the seeds or let them self-sow. If you want some seeds, LMK.

@johannian, I do like the mariposa lily; don't see them here.
