It was, of course, not a planned combination, but I agree that it's quite nice. My guess is either Tradescantia virginiana or T. ohioensis, or perhaps a hybrid.
Thanks for the suggestion; I'm not quite sure how to do that, but I'll see if I can figure it out.
The nice thing about spring in the north is that it really does seem to 'spring'. Here, it just gets warmer, and this year, we had very little wintery weather.
