The bigger I need the lighter the pot for me. Add 80# of soil and large pottery can get really, really heavy! I prefer fiberglass for strength as they get moved around from here to there. Only the smallest plant get a pretty decorative piece of pottery. What is your potting preference?

My favorite is the Fiberglass. Because I have severe winters I need something that can withstand the weather.

I can place them on the patio where most of my pots are used and never have to move them. I can leave them in place through the winter.

Whatever I can get my hands on cheap.

Mine are what I could get cheap also.
I tend to like plastic because they do not dry out as quickly as the terra cotta ones do.

A little of everything -- except have found metal just gets too hot.

plastic, pottery, terra cotta, fiberglass and whatever else comes to hand and looks OK. Oh and I have hypertufa too.

Although some say the porcelain tend to crack and break down after a few years, their beauty makes it worth it.

If I get 5 - 7 years out of a pretty pot that is OK.
