Hi all,

I entered the basic info and variety names of few different series for Calibrachoa into the Plant Database. Please have a look and if you have photos of the different varieties for the following series please submit them. I think I got all the colours (varieties) of each. Let me know if not.

Aloha
Aloha Tiki
Aloha Kona
Calipetite

The next series that I will update is Minifamous, MiniFamous™, MiniFamous Compact and MiniFamous iGeneration
Please watch for these new Database entries and submit your photos. I should have the MiniFamous groups in within a day or 2.

There are 363 different varieties entered into the database for calibrachoas. If you have photos of any, that would be awesome.

Thanks Sue! I have entered a lot of new varieties for 2013, so it may be fun to find some of those in the nurseries.

I might send a few pictures when they are in season. Just now seedlings are being put down but as to the exact ID Shrug! . Will post them to you direct. Talking about Calibracoa's, as to their parentage in this part of the world?
Regards,
Masud.

Don't you worry Masud, calibrachoa is world-wide. Sometimes it is a little bit of a job to research the patent number, but there are lot's of resources. There are many calibrachoa plant breeders world wide and a number of them near you. For fun, have a read of this:

I look forward to see your photos

Thank you Joanne for the link. I thought there were only four in my country Blinking a new adventure. I think you should also have a dump(genus) site from where you can ID and move them as required. I will also be helping as much before posting.
Regards,
Masud.

Here's a public domain photo he's calling 'Terracotta' if you know where that goes. I couldn't find it in the db.

Yes, this will be an issue. It could be one of the two listed bellow. Fortunately there are rules put in place and all the calibrachoa that are sold retail require a licensed Trademarked tag. Given that is was spelled as one word: Terracotta, it would be a good guess to say it is "Can-Can® Terracotta"

Proven Winners "Million Bells® Terra Cotta" aka Sunbekist : vigorus growth spreading

or

"Can-Can® Terracotta" aka Balcantera
Can-Can grows about 10"-15" high and 10"-15" wide, so more compact than "Million Bells® Terra Cotta"

The best way to clarify is to look at the plant tag

Yes, if you have the plant tag. Smiling I'm importing it to the general entry.

I will work on the calibrachoa database soon. My focus is to edit the existing petunias and then the calibrachoa
