I gave this seedling a warning last year if it wasnt better this year it was going in the burn pile. I wouldn't even take a picture of it. This is the first bloom for it this year and i know i will keep it . It is better and odd . Hope next bloom characteristics will include pattern traits on all petals. The light stripe is right of mid rib and the midrib is purple. Held green throat all day.


The cross is Janet and Bill x Emerald Starburst. Have thought of some interesting names for this one.

Fred, your patterned daylilies are a feast for the eyes. And I actually really like the color on this seedling, (HB12-18 x Lillian's Cunning Lies). Crazy branching is right!

@Diggerofdirt, I would keep that red daylily too. So glad it shaped up for you this year. That talk must have done some good

Diana, oh yes, scapes are so exciting. Makes it so hard to be patient, doesn't it? I walk around the garden beds each day just to see how much the

Small World Snow Owl/Malaysian Marketplace #6. This may be the only one left, and I am still deciding if I want to keep it. You see all these pictures were taken in May, it's an early bloomer. Today I was surprised to find two new scapes, so perhaps I will be posting pictures in June.
