We spent a week in Florida with temps in the upper 80s. We returned home Sunday night to cold weather! It's way too early for this here! Low tonight is to be 44°.

I hadn't done any coleus cuttings yet. I didn't even have my potting mix. So today I went out an got a compressed bale of Pro-Mix. I started doing cuttings, but still have more to do. I hope the plants will wait for me before turning mushy.

Has everyone else done cuttings?

Karen

I will start next week but only the ones that did well for me. Not going to take as many this year, too much work. I wan't to order some new ones from RD in the spring.

When I looked at the pictures thought the van hit your plants.
Did you get cuttings from them?

Its 42* now with expected hi of 74*
I took in a Alocasia.
I wont be doing cuttings. Its just too much fussing and watering for 9 months.
Many of my containers are perennial so I can afford to buy coleus next season.

I expect the deck will look pretty droopy after last night. Its too dark to see right now.

Nights are cold here, in the 40s, but with bright sunny days in the 70s. Just perfect early fall days.

Possible frost tomorrow morning with a low of 38°. I'm glad I got a few cuttings done. I just don't see the coleus lasting through these cold nights.

I took a few last pics a few days ago. I don't think I posted them.
I love how the trailers spill over the walkway.

In fact, by this time of year, they almost swallow the walkway

Karen, what lovely plantings.

I especially like the pink one by the steps, do you know it's name?

I do hope they come back for you.
