I am really enjoying see everyone's doubles, lots of beauties here.
Debra, thanks for the thumb's up.
Leslie, Over The Top has been a very frustrating DL for us. This is its fourth year and it finally produced the double that I posted. I have been tempted to toss it, but I think we are going to move it to a different location and see if it does better. The scape height is listed at 28 inches, certainly we have never seen anything like that, maybe some day if we keep it.
Cynthia, one dip double we have that is tall is Dublin Elaine. Our scapes on this one are now hitting 36" and we love this one for sure. Also, Jean Swann listed at 32" and I think we are getting close to that. The thing is, we have had these daylilies for four or five years, so age and weather conditions really have an effect on growth. We are now in the third year of drought, and I can only wonder how tall the scapes might have grown if they had received the "normal" amount of water that we usually get. Something else you may notice is that these are Joiners and I think they produce a number of nice double daylilies.
Karin, I have liked Boogie Woogie Blues since I saw it on AHS President Julie Covington's blog on small flowered DLs. Not only do I like it as a double, but also as a single.
I wanted to post the pic of Dublin Elaine to perhaps give some idea of the height. These are close to 36" scapes, but it probably is difficult to tell.
