Just planted 200 mini daffs. It sounds like a lot but they go in smaller holes and 3 to a hole so it goes fast.I wish I had added more.Thats on next years list.

I have a few liliums I dug up when we made the new perennial bed and a few Daffs to replant. Also I have some white tulips which I plan to put in a large pot with blue Pansies that I ordered from someones school. I also planted a 'milk and wine lily' and I have a bag full of the mini daffodils,(rip van winkle) and some Crocosmia in a pot. I got a couple in the mail yesterday. Leslie Woodriff, Honeymoon, Shocking, and Pollyanna. Also next week Alliums and a Crinodonna Lily. Green Grin!

I bought a bulb auger for my drill last year , it makes planting bulbs so easy. I want to put in lots of mini daffodils myself.

I bought a nice auger also, couple of years ago and planted a lot of daffodils. The only problem I had was that my drill is battery operated, and it would run the batteries down real fast. I would aug for ten minutes and charge for 50 minutes. I think I will use an electric drill next time, should work better. Thumbs up

Alliums, daffodils and tulips.
Also a few Iris and Foxtail lilies.
The alliums are the Purple Sensation ones, but I have some of the smaller ones on order.
The daffodils are all the Dutch Master kind or King Alfred type.
This year I am planting the multi-flowering or bouquet tulips.
I have Mango Charm on order---it changes colour.

Purple sensation is beautiful, thanks for reminding me. I did see it on sale at SRG and I was just getting ready to put in one more order. I am getting some Japanese Painted Ferns, Center Stage Coreopsis, Strawberry Foxglove, and the Purple Sensation is only 3.99 for a bag of 5!
I went there because someone told me about the Center Stage and when I saw the ferns for 2.49..... I was very happy. They are always so expensive and they will be the final touch for my Hosta Bed. I already have plenty Coral Bells and Helleborus.

Our bulb planting is earlier as end of October---the ground is frozen.
So our bulb planting is September through until mid October.

I have planted bulbs as late as late November and with last winter so mild I did some in December.
I see by your home you are cold earlier.

Some years we can plant bulbs in November, but can't always count on winter holding off that long.
I try to get them in early ,but some years if left until later--I am taking a kettle of hot water out to thaw the soil.

Last year I planted Hostas during November and December and transplanted 9 shrubs in January. Every time we had good weather I found things to do. LOL.

Our ground doesn't freeze here, so as long as there is no snow I can plant. I've done it up to New Years Eve.

But I only have two varieties of daffs to plant this year Crying Which I suppose is good as I still have irises to plant.
