not sure the one posted is "the real", 'wing commander' i could be wrong. take a look at the database.

I have found "Wing Commander" to be very variable...even in the same clump and within about a week of staggered blooming. Even the appendages are different. Here is an example of another bloom in my garden from the same clump. Totally different in tone and appendage. Go figure!

thank you for posting the variances, louise. i stand corrected. i was amazed at the color differences compared to the db.

Fairy Rose, your picture of Homebody if expanded is lovely. I am amazed at how beautiful that iris is in my garden! It is just fantastic. I had to cut it since bad weather (freeze 25 degrees) and it lasted a full week in the House in a wine bottle.

I have new pics but am exhausted from getting out 7 boxes of daylilies today. Keep posting I will catch up soon.

Beautiful! I had actually ordered Dazzling from Schreiners, but had to change it when I realized it was an IB. I am just focusing on TBs right now for my maiden voyage into irises, otherwise I would love to have it...
