Thread OP
California (Zone 9b)
While pruning our olive tree last winter I found a praying mantis egg case attached to one of the branches and saved it in a ziplock bag in the garage with my gardening things. I forgot about it until a few days ago (months later) when I noticed baby praying mantises hatching out of it! Here is a photo of the egg case and some of the tiny little guys exploring around on my Friendship Sage where I placed the branch with the hatching babies after sprinkling them on a few plants in my yard. I am in California Zone 9b with mild winters and hot summers.

Very good picture of them, I have 4 egg cases this year, I just left them in their spots, I think they hatched a while back.
