Hello Karyn. If you have any more information about the iris such as height, if it has pbf (purple based foliage) and if it is an early, medium, late bloomer it would be helpful. Also, as many photos of you have of it in all conditions/lighting. How long have you had the iris?

Hi Karyn,

to the Iris Forum! That's a pretty one. Is it new for you? Where did you buy it?

Some things don't always come in "as advertised", as I have had a few mixups with my latest orders. And as Bonnie mentioned, take more pictures, see how tall it is when in bloom and is it early or late for you?

(If you did purchase it, you might try to contact the vendor.) But if it is a gift from a friend who didn't have the name, it might be a little harder. Good luck! Maybe someone will recognize it here...

These are two separate irises, neither is from a vendor. My Gramma was the keeper of the irises, but she recently passed away and my Mom and I are trying to make sense of the ones she shared and the ones she planted in her last place of residence. So I am not actually sure where these came from originally.

The bottom picture actually lives here at my house, and would still be blooming if we had not had massive wind and rain together, which laid the heavy bloomstalks down. I cut them and brought them into the house for vases. It has the look of a tall bearded to me, but it's not particularly tall, about 34". The bloom looks light green on the outside until it begins to open, then it looks lavender. The lavender though, is very light on the falls when opened, it looks creamy, the bottom of standard is lavender, the top is cream. The foliage is not purple based.

The top picture lives at my Mom's, I just brought it home to see it when it opened. Definitely a green hue like Green and Gifted, the standards have lavender at the bottom, and the green falls have lavender spots. Not positive of the height of this one, but a tall for sure.

Welcome, Karyn! I'm sorry I can't help you with ID, but how nice to have your grandma's irises. Something to remember her by every time they bloom! Hopefully someone will be able to help you.

Karyn! I am definitely not the biggest fan of irises, but I must say: yours are exceptionally pretty!

If the irises in the original bed have been around for a while you could have a child iris of some in that bed or elsewhere as bees bring in pollen and a bee pod shows up, dries, seeds fall to ground and then germinates in a year or so. If that is the case a name will never be assigned except for "Gramma's whatever" and remember her as you view it.

Your photo looks like "suspiciously" like the Keppel variety "Suspicion"

This is only a guess, but i've grown this variety for years up until some time ago.
It does have slight brassy green tint to the standards and falls.
Mine did not have and pbf -- (purple based foliage)
