~ Editing my original post to say these plants have been identified as
Lilac Tasselflower (Emilia sonchifolia)
Florida Tassel Flower (Emilia fosbergii)

This is a weed growing in my yard that I think I've seen identified before. *Blush* it might even be me that asked for the identification but I don't have a named folder in my files so maybe I just saw pictures when it was ID'd for someone else and forgot to label my folder ... wouldn't surprise me. Smiling There are actually two different ones growing in my yard, one with pink flowers and another with red. Some of these pictures are a bit blurry because it was windy when they were taken but I hope they help with identification. All photo's were taken this summer (August and September) growing in sandy soil and in locations with both hot sun and shade.

The pink one would be Emilia sonchifolia.

Just guessing here but judging from the leaf shape I would say that Myriam has the right ID on the red one. Emilia fosbergii
