I thought this rose was dead because it looked sad. But it warmed up leaves popped and it gave me my first rose of the year. The others have not opened yet. I love it. shirleyt

Ms. Shirley - that rose is definitely something to warm the heart after this winter, isn't it! Absolutely beautiful, breath-taking photo. Do you know who it is? Smiling You should definitely post that picture of whoever it is (peace?) on our Database!

Beautiful photo, Shirley! Is it Double Delight? Or perhaps Love & Peace? Please add it to our database if you know the name.

I have done some research and searched my memory and I believe this rose to be a rose called Cherry Parfait . I remember it on the ID card with a reminder from a friend. It has a heavenly smell and last for a long time once the bud forms . It looks a lot like Double Delight to me too. But I do remember Cherry parfait on card. But as you know some times things are mislabeled. I will let you who know roses decide. ok. It looks like this as the rose gets about a week old. This is a pic from a last year bloom on this plant. shirleytThumb of 2011-03-31/shirley/c81a04

Cherry Parfait doesn't have a smell. At least the ones here at the nursery don't.

ok I remember it definitely had parfait on the card and it definitely has a wonderful scent. It flows over the deck and is delightful. You decide. Maybe it is double delight, if so it should be changed to triple delight. The rose starts out one way and ages beautifully as you see.Thumb of 2011-03-31/shirley/5a3e9e This is same rose today about four days between shots

I'm not doubting you, I'm just saying that the cherry parfait at Tagawas Gardens had no scent, which I thought should have been like against the law that something that beautiful having no scent! LOL!

If you like roses that have dramatic changes, try Mardi Gras.

Thanks for sharing your first rose of the year, Shirley. It's a great photo. I'd have guessed Double Delight, too. Gloria, your photo looks more like what I think of when I think of Cherry Parfait.

It's funny because I bought Double Delight this spring. I planted it. Then I decided it needed to be closer to Cherry Parfait. I dug it up and replanted it, all before it started setting leaves. It's still just sitting there waiting for better weather. Cherry Parfait, meanwhile is nearly finished leafing out. Can't wait for bloom season here.
When you dance with nature, try not to step on her toes.

Gloria! Those are gorgeous, gorgeous photos. Please add them to the database, along with any other photos you may have.

Hey, what happened to all of you who were going to add photos to the database in the middle of winter? Do it now, please, before spring distracts you too much.

Turns out it is the buds that smell great here and once the flower opens wide the scent leaves. What is that about? Check it out.

I sure do hope that is Cherry Parfait; it's lovely, and I have two of them on order!
