I have noticed that a number of posts by different members are being repeated exactly a number of hours after they have been first submitted. At first I thought it was intentional but now I am thinking that there is some glitch that is causing it to happen. Has anyone else noticed this?

Debbie, I haven't noticed any duplicate posts; can you give a link or let us know which forums/threads you've been seeing them?

One way this can happen is if people are posting from their phone, submit the post and then close the browser app. When they open the browser app again, it picks up where it left off and sometimes this can trigger it to resubmit the post.

I've noticed it on several different forums @plantladylin; one earlier today on the Plant Id forum, post #2266605. (Sorry don't know how to do a link)

I am on iPad, and I've had to stop it from doing that a few times. I think you're right.

Thanks Kim. Yes, Android and Apple tablets (iPads) can also do the same thing - I just didn't even think of that when I wrote my post.

I find quite a few, some hours or even days apart. I delete them when I com across them.

I'm seeing a lot of these, hope this is the most recent discussion. I don't know any code newer than just after the turn of the century, but it seems like a cache clearing could be employed, a script to refresh...? At the time I last used HTML coding, I had to make different versions of pages for different browsers, and use a script to check the browser and direct to the right version.

This isn't causing a hardship or great annoyance, but it is interesting.

Calif_Sue brought this up with me recently. Figuring out what's causing the duplicate posts is on my TODO list.

I think this bug has been fixed. If anyone sees duplicate posts after today, please let me know.

I was thinking Tiffany meant duplicate posts, one right after the other. I wonder if perhaps Saravia112 was just offering the same identical reply to both Tiffany's post and later to luis_pr's post?

Nope, this has been an ongoing issue for a while, often days apart.
