I drive by this every day. It's taken them 1 full year of construction, 7 days a week, to get to almost completed. Possibly the wave of the future but I miss the open fields....

Hmm! If it were Texas, I would ask if they grow tender crops in midsummer, in the shade. But I'm guessing that Ontario does not have scorching summers with intense sun.

I wonder if the solar collectors could have been spaced differently, and support thin-walled greenhouses for extending the season for early spring and late fall crops? I've ready that a double or triple layer of plastic film lets them grow lettuce in mid-winter in Maine.

Maybe the Connecticut River valley could use solar collectors to create shade for their cigar-wrapper-tobacco industry. Right now they have miles of filmy gauze tents.

Now that is an interesting idea, Rick!
And, maybe those solar panels aren't as attractive as open fields, but (and I mean no offense Angel ) don't you think they're preferable to the BP oil spill? We gotta start doing something different!
Confidence is that feeling you have right before you do something really stupid.

Good point. "Maybe not perfect, but better than melting the ice caps and changing the locations of deserts and flooding the lowlands".

Or whatever we are locking ourselves into by ignoring CO2 until it's much too late.

Hmm, which smiley is for "gloom, doom, depression and pessimism"?
