Thread OP

Hello, about three years ago I planted to medium size Gumbo Limbo trees. It took a while and then they started to grow. I had some pests that I controlled with a Systemic Insecticide.

This month a large number of the leaves are turning yellow and green and are dropping like flies.

Does anybody has any ideas what it could be due to?

Thanks

The fact that the veins are yellow is a concern. How long ago did you use the systemic?

Thanks for your reply Alice, I applied a systemic insecticide about a month ago.
I have read that the Gumbo Limbos do not like too much water. For the last two weeks it has been raining almost daily.
But I am not sure ig this is due to excess water or something else. I also put every three months 4 stakes of Vigoro fertilizer.

I would take a small branch with the leaves showing the problem to your local extension office and have them diagnosis the issue. Take a soil sample with you so they can check that at the same time.
