Looking for Magic:  Bay Leaf

As often as we use herbs and spices, we really should be aware of their nutritional value. Finding their magic is important too. Let's take a close look at bay leaves and see the surprises they bring to our kitchen.

I love learning new things.
As to the bay leaves in the flour; I have used the bay leaf in my flour container to keep the bugs out and it works. It doesn't flavor the flour. If there is a flavor, we never figured it out! Like Sharon mentioned, the bay leaves can be put in the cabinet, also. I like the aroma myself.

Glad to know the bay doesn't flavor the flour. I really think it has to be broken or wet before it has a scent, too, but I hesitated to say that since I hadn't tried the flour thing. Thanks, Oma!
