I have "Zee" blooming right now. This is a Don Spoon IB that is well known for (RE) re-blooming. This "issue" only occured on this one petal. All the other Falls and standards look correct.

Here are a few photos of the rest of the flowers; as it should be.

That's a beautiful flower reminds me of the color of Stepping Out one of my favorites.

What zone are you Greg, I wonder if that would re-bloom here? If this is it's ususal time to rebloom, then it might make it here, might have to give it a try.

I've added Zee to my want list. I avoid Irises with this coloration because I already have Jesse's Song -- which is similar. But I really like the dark purple stripe down the center of the fall petals. Besides -- Jesse's Song doesn't re-bloom.

Jesse's Song is lighter in coloration; this one is much darker. & because it is an IB, it seems to stand out more for me. The colors are much better in person.

Tom-I am on the MD/PA line (good ole Mason x Dixon). I am in zone 6b.

You could plant it away from the area with Jesse's Song. An IB will also bloom earlier in the spring.
