The first one is 'Naked Paris' from Mikes Siam order, I thought it would be more purple but I love it anyway!

This one is 'Golden Crown' , the flower is tiny -just the size of a nickel.

The last is my first flower from seed--flowered in 11 months-- The seeds were 'Star of Yellow Dreams' --not much yellow though--I am happy that its not all pink.
The pic is with flash and under lights --I couldn't quite get the color right. OH--and a kind of nutmeggy fragrance!

More to come later-The other one from Siam is starting to make buds...

I agree, and you might get more color in your seedling at a better time of year. Plus - scent is GREAT! Hurray!

Happy for you!

The Golden Crowns are grown for their weirdo shapes, and they all have the little pink flowers. Don't over feed.

Star of Yellow Dreams, is a dream of yellow, not a yellow, hahaha! Glad to hear about the fragrance! Maybe I should plant more, tho' I have one seed pod coming along from the one I named Vanilla Canary, has fragrance all day, like sweet vanilla. Boy, can't wait for tons of fragrant Adeniums! Wheeeee!

Only problem with the seed pods is that the plant quits doing anything but concentrating on the pods. No new leaves or flowers. Almost like a dormancy.

This one is Siam Golden Aroma, a Mike coop. Some but little 'aroma' and where's the gold???

Oh, yeah--congrats on the flower on your Golden Crown! It's what they call a Thai socotranum, actually a hybridized arabicum. I have little 3-week old seedlings of Thai soco S1/Golden Bell and 2 types...and I use the term "little" loosely as they're much bigger than my obesum seedlings that are almost 2 weeks older. Like Melissa said, the arabicums and Thai socos are grown for the caudex shape/size and bonsai potential than for their blooms, which are almost always small and some variation of pink.

As for your Naked Paris (also called Violet City) your flower looks almost nothing like what it should be--though it IS very nice! Is this a grafted obesum or from seed of Naked Paris? I also have a few 1 month old seedlings of this type--if they bloom with a flower anything like yours I will be elated!

Good one Melissa.I also have that one and, pretty though it may be, it takes a good imagination to make it yellow.Thumb of 2013-06-24/gone2seed/fb07eb

I meant to say "S1 Golden Bell and 2 'other' types" and that my Naked Paris seedlings are from seed of a Naked Paris flower.... so my Naked Paris seedlings most likely won't have flowers much like its parent.
