The rose is Carefree Celebration.

Rose (Rosa 'Carefree Celebration')

It has been in our database since the first day the database was created (September 19, 2011), but the 'Coral Knock Out' alternative name is a recent addition by Star Roses. I've now added that alternative name to our entry.

Here are some photos of my Carefree Celebration (I knew it was hybridized by Bill Radler, but didn't know that it was aka Coral Knockout).

Radler hybridized it in 2007 and Star Roses added the "knock out" name in 2018. It's a merchandising tactic I personally deplore. I remember when Heirloom Roses sold the same rose under three different names (Adagio, Scottish Highlands, and Home of Time) in three consecutive years.

Oh, J&P is also notorious for renaming roses to get more sales out of them! Many of their roses have at least two names. Caesar Chavez/Beloved comes to mind right away.

Zuzu. Deplorable is just the name for it.

Mike. That is really a beautiful rose. Nice pix.

Porkpal. I guess rules are for the faint of heart. I'll join that club.
