I was one of the first 300 contributors to the plant database!
A patch of st Augustine grass, marked with a black arrow has thin (shriveled) blades as if thirsty. Except it DOES get water. What do you think it could be? This patch is at base of bitter hickory tree. But if it were root toxicity, wouldn't it be all around the tree base? Will appreciate your input

No, nothing like that. I'm stumped. It doesn't look rotted. Just looks thirsty.
