I personally will not order from Heirloom as none of the 5 I got from them last year survived, but I'm a beginning and probably ended up killing them myself. I just can't see spending that much on teeny twigs.

Skiekitty, I resolved to do the same about a decade ago. I've succeded with several from there and was glad to have them, but my batting average with Heirloom was probably not 14%. If I ever get good at growing plants in a container, I will probably consider them for the rare rose that they have, but that cannot be found elsewhere. And then I will grow the rose for a full year before planting it out. Otherwise rabbits, voles, deer, and other nibbling varmints will almost surely make a quick end of it.

I also have avoided Heirloom after a disastrous experience years ago. Their minis are nice, however, so I have bought roses from John's even though it's an arm of Heirloom.

One thing I really hate about Heirloom is their sneaky habit of inventing new names for old roses, so that you get all excited about 'Scottish Highlands,' for instance, and then find out it's just the same old 'Adagio' you've had for years.

Yup my kind of rose. Im so excited. Wow for the shipping charges we have to pay for these places it sure takes a long time to receive an order. Im still waiting for my vintage rose order and its been about 3 weeks.

I understand something of what it is to endure a long wait for roses. I ordered my Vintage Gardens roses during a Fall sale and asked them to hold them until late April, which they graciously agreed to do. It's given me a lot of time to consider where I will squeeze them into the garden. But I'm still puzzling over that question for a few of them. Good luck with the Heirloom order; Good News certainly is an unusual rose and I'm sure if you give it good care you will be delighted.
