What a contrast between yesterday's fog and today's bright day! I've also noticed how quiet foggy days are. That odd branch on the maple will be something to watch next year.
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.

Yes, I think all of those tiny water drops absorb sound. On days with thick fog I can't hear traffic on our gravel road, sometimes not even when I am outside. Normally I can hear it from inside the house with the windows closed.

Years ago when we boated, we would often anchor out overnight in a quiet bay on the lake. We'd awaken some mornings to a very dense fog and the world around us would be so quiet we felt like were were totally alone in the middle of the ocean. Couldn't even hear little ripples of water splash against the boat, couldn't hear birds, couldn't hear a thing. It was a little weird.
