I've been looking at houseplants online lately, and I'm seeing "cannot be shipped to CA" a lot. I don't see this for other states. So does anyone know why so many plants can't be shipped here? Just wondering what the actual reasons are.

Therefore, the California Dept. of Agriculture is extremely cautious about the import of live plants, which could contain soil-borne insects that might damage agricultural crops in the state
