The weather is a lot hotter than usual the Kohala Coast. Growing roses a the 2300 elevation probably helps them thrive.

Lovely! Your roses certainly seem unphazed by the unaccustomed heat.

They look great. Keep posting pic's. The Jap. beetles have destroyed all my blooms and a lot of foliage. Worst I have ever seen them.
It's a rose!!! It has nothing to do with life and death.

When I started growing roses a year or so ago they were eaten alive by Chinese rose beetles. I contacted a member of the Honolulu Rose Society who suggested that I shine a light on them. So I installed two flood lights controlled by a timer that are on from dusk to dawn. I haven't seen a rose beetle since.
