What did they do, you ask? They made another customer very very happy! Got in these two boxes yesterday UPS, so well packed, SUCH beautiful roses! I love it! Sure, the 11 cost over $260, but look at what I'm getting! I'm ecstatic with these beauties! And Lavender Pinocchio has 3 massive blooms on him! Wow! AND smells wonderful! But has some pretty nasty thin thorns.. oh well.

Box one

Here's the other box. You can see the 3 blooms on Pinocchio. Kind of odd looking (that's what I was looking for). It looks like the bloom starts light lavender, then fades to brownish/tannish. Weird.

(I just looked at these pictures.. pretty darned good for a phone camera, doncha think?)

Congrats!
And thanks for the update. Whenever I start to think about ordering from RU, the $8 per plant for shipping stops me cold. But I'm beginning to think that it might actually be worth it.

Steve - you WON'T be disappointed. I ordered like 10 roses from them last year and every single one of them survived the horrendous winter we had here. I *love* RU and highly recommend them. Zuzu got me addicted to them (go figure). Only problem is that they don't have an online ordering and they're kinda slow with email. Plus they don't take credit cards/Paypal and I do NOT like sending money through the mail. but that's the only way they take payments. I sent them a money order on the 13th and you see how fast I got the roses. I believe that probably in June they'll be having some sales.. I believe that's when I ordered for the first time and they were FANTASTIC roses!! Only problem is that they'll have a lesser selection (only like 200-300 roses). Best way to get a hold of them is to call them, but they close at 3pm EST, so I always try calling between 10-11 MST so I get someone. Smiling They're REALLY nice people!!!

Last year they had a half-price sale in June and a $4 sale in August. At those prices, the $8 shipping per rose was easy to take. Some years, though, the sale is "buy two, get one free." Still a bargain, but not as amazing.

I know, CR. I can't believe the number of tools I need when I unpack their boxes.

?? I use a razorblade to slice the big box open, rip it down off of the staples, slice the other side down, rip that side off the staples, then use the razorblade to cut open each individual box. I unpacked these two boxes in about 12 minutes (had to find my razorblade first). But WAY better packed than some other companies... Plus they use UPS which makes me for a happy camper.
