Hey all,

Can anyone recommend a good organic liquid fertilizer (or a brand) that is low or zero nitrogen and good for veggies? (Or point me in the direction of that info on this site elsewhere?)

I've been using Jobes granular organically (all purpose & vegetable/tomato) recently but I would like to have on hand a natural liquid fertilizer that will help with flower/fruit production.

Is Alaska brand a good brand? I've seen a fish emulsion they have that is 0-10-10 I believe.

Any advice/recommendations would be greatly appreciated! I've read so much now about fertilizers & soil amendments ect., but to be perfectly honest I still find it all a bit overwhelming! There are sooo many products out there! Blinking

If you have enough N in your soil or are growing low N plants than a NPK of 0-10-10 should work fine. Jobs organics also has 3-5-4. Most of us will use the readily available Bloom Booster 15-30-15 or Jacks 10-30-20 But only for jumpstarting a recalcitrant plant.

There are VERY few liquid Nitrogen free, and they are not cheap.
For every liquid there are a over a dozen dry.

Nitrogen is the main nutrient that depletes fastest in the soil because it is water soluble. In addition, nitrogen insufficiency prevents the uptake of phosphorus. At this time of year, your vegetables can benefit from a nitrogen boost. A more balanced fertilizer is probably a better choice than 0-10-10. If you're growing in pots, things are different.

Here are two somewhat related article about adding phosophorus:

Neptunes Harvest has some really great liquid fertilizers. Fish Emulsion.Liquid Seaweed and a blend of both. Plus the newer products made to promote blooming or growth.
