Found this hosta on clearance. Some of the leaves are solid but some have this subtle netted pattern on it. I thought it was unusual enough that someone here might recognize it? (There is a weed in the middle).

My first thought was HVX, not sure since on the second picture the dark color seems to follow the veining. I had it on a couple of plants but had a more blotched pattern. Hopefully it is just one I do not recognize.

Could be. Let me check it again. It was only $3 so I won't feel too bad.

I don't think it is the virus. Maybe an iron deficiency. I'll feed it some ironite and see what happens.
When I first saw it, I thought it was like Calathea musaica 'Network'.

Hopefully that is the problem . I have seen some obvious HVX at a few places this year after not seeing it in a couple of years. What bothered me more is that when I mentioned it the people there had no idea of what it was. I could understand not agreeing but not ever having heard of it. Not Good.

Thank you for the link, Rj. Interesting that there is a rapid test.
I first heard about the HVX a few years ago. I remember I panicked and I threw out Tatoo. D'Oh! But it has been a few years and I forgot about it. Now I have been picking up hostas on clearance so we'll see what I get now. Since you saw the virus around, Bob, that is not good for me since we don't live that far away from each other.
I guess I'll start with the ironite tomorrow.
Thank You!

It looks a bit like the mottled tissue you sometimes see with HVX, but I think it more likely that's it's a nutrient deficiency. Try something with iron and you might also try some Epsom Salts in water for the potassium.

I just found it so we'll see. I'm not sure if the color will come back to the existing leaves or if I have to wait for new ones.

This one I overwintered in the ground and now it is just plain green. No signs of netting pattern.

I have one that does that every spring. It evens out as the season progresses. I think it's called Junior Miss.
