I need some advice. I purchased this Fiddle-leaf fig February 2019 when it was approx. 3 feet tall. Never thought it would grow fast as it did. It's at the ceiling now and time for propagation. My question is, at what height should I make the cut? The ceiling is 9 feet. Thanks.
I know that pruning is scary at first. You get used to it, and the cut piece will root just fine. It will be ok, and soon will grow back up to the ceiling! I have to prune down all of my plants. I have 8 ft Ficus benjamina, and different hibiscus.
Thank for your advise plantmanager, it's a done deal. Made the cut on my day off. This is the second plant to hit the ceiling, The rubber plant in the pic below, my first house plant, was pruned about 6 months ago. My bird of paradise is getting up there. Unfortunately I'll have to give it away.
