Lynda, Evelyn and Will—yes, she was cool. Hung around in the mint pot for a couple of days and I never saw her again. I hope she found a safe place and parked some eggs!
I was going back through some old photos tonight, found a nice profile:
Name: Lynda Horn Arkansas (Zone 7b) Eat more tomatoes!
All decked out for Halloween! I took one of my smaller females over to my sick friends yard and released it. Now on the look for a male to take over. These are Carolinas, y'all, so don't freak. She doesn't have any. This is the friend who has terminal cancer. I'm doing what I can for her. It pleased her no end to receive the mantis.
Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin.

They mean well. Oh, a tragedy. I was sweeping my porch and found a dead female, one of the smaller ones. She was all dried up, I could tell she hadn't been stepped n, but she did have some legs missing. Looks like she met up with one of the bigger females and she came out the loser.

Will—I can imagine that anyone intending to ring your doorbell might be startled! Looks like a female and it's egg-laying time, so watch for oothecas! (and to both Wills, I'm with you...not an ounce of sympathy )
Lynda—Could be she had laid her egg case and reached the end of her lifespan. I've found two new cases so far. Haven't seen a single PM for well over a month now.
