Thread OP

Hello all! New here and have some maples on our farm, trying to identify them. The first I want to start with is a small little guy I actually dig out of the dirt surrounding a larger one, it was only a small twig and two tiny leaves. I unearthed and potted it for it to grow healthily away from animal damage and encroaching on the existing maple. Curious to see if anyone could tell me what kind I have here.

Thanks!

Welcome!

Its an Acer palmatum. The red leaves are pretty.
