This single plant sprouted about 2 mo. ago, and I don't know what I have here. The leaves are large, about 4" long and 3" wide. The photos were taken on a very cloudy day, and the leaves are extended. Today it's sunny and the leaves have closed, like what a Sensitive Plant does when you touch the leaves.

Any idea what I have?

The reason it's so hard to lose weight when you get up in age is because your body and your fat have become good friends.

Sorta looks like a
Candlestick Senna - Cassia alata
The leaves close at night, I used to have one, but had to get rid of it because it got way too big for my garden, gave it to a friend and it has popped up in her neighbors yard across the street, I'm sure from birds.

It does look a lot like Candletree (Senna alata)

Another possibility is Sicklepod (Senna obtusifolia)

I also thought of Christmas Senna (Senna bicapsularis) but the leaves in your photo appear much larger than those of S. bicapsularis.

It is Cassia alata, aka Senna alata. It's called the Candlestick Tree.

Thanks everyone.

It's a nice plant for a big piece of property like yours. The Cloudless sulphur butterflies love to lay eggs on it and they are beautiful caterpillars, although the Cardinals love the caterpillars.

Sherri, I am glad you mentioned how large they can get. Ken, they are fabulous when in bloom, you will love it. I have been wanting one and just realized I do not have enough real estate to really showcase it.

I just bought a small candle stick plant. I can not really plant it in the ground so i am going to see how large it gets in a two gallon pot.
