Hello all -

I received this bare rooted ficus triangularis ordered from Etsy today. I potted it in a mix of miracle gro citrus potting mix, coir, and perlite. I plan to place it in bright indirect light. I'm interested to know any particular care advice anyone might have. I've read they are tricky.

I have a ficus benjamina and a couple other ficus varieties grown as bonsai which are doing well. I also have a variegated ficus benjamina for a few months but I'm finding it a bit fussier in that it continues to drop a few leafs each week although it getting plenty of light. I continue to experiment with watering frequency, letting it get a bit drier or less dry in between watering to see if it helps.

I'd appreciate any advice or ideas for this new variegated ficus . I'd love to keep it looking as cute as it does now.

Thanks much!
Abby

From what I can tell, the care is very similar to a Ficus Benjamina. I have a Ficus triangularis myself. I keep it out of direct sun, except for a little in the morning. I water it more often that I thought I would need to. And, I let it enjoy the FL humidity. It hasn't died yet. *whew*
I have found that coffee, tea, and rose can all agree on one thing... water everyday.
