Can I just put the cuttings in a plastic glass or cut filled with water until it begins to root?

I didn't have good results with that technique. Maybe it's just me, but I think I had 100% success rooting in potting soil, 0 in water. Shrug! Your mileage might vary.

I find the transition from water to soil doesn't have great results.. if any live .. I usually take new cuttings from those to start in soil .. so just easier to just start in soil for me
