I picked up some 75% off bulbs too, but it is -20ºC, which is -4ºF and the ground is frozen solid. I planted some crocus, bluebells, dwarf tulips and chionodoxa into large 6-pack cell trays and have them in our heated garage, which stays about 7ºC. I put them on the floor, farthest from the furnace and close to the overhead door. I think they will stay above freezing, but just above. I plan to move them to a heated greenhouse in early March and hope to have blooms by beginning of April. We have a Garden Show the 2nd weekend of April and I usually plant up a container for a little people's choice award. The theme this year is Seasons of the Senses, so I hope to have some of these for my "Spring" part. I'm going to seed some orange pansies before the New Year to use in the Autumn part. Also got a little Euro Pine for $5 from Lowes for the Winter part. My plan is to make 4 different "scenes" and have them mounted on a large lazy-susan to turn to look at each. Not sure if I will be able to trick short sweet peas to bloom then or a 10" dwarf sunflower, but will try.
