I got a chuckle about the 'winter interest' category. Also happy memories of time spent as a kid helping my mom canning vegetables and putting up jams and jellies from home raised produce. No pickles, though, much as I love them.

I too have good memories of helping with the summer harvest and my favorite task which was cleaning and organizing the fruit room where we stored canned goods and dry storage like potatoes and apples.
