Strawberries....in December! I tried something new early in the year and planted strawberries in a half whisky barrel. It turned out so well! Still going (so far)!

They ARE delicious! The strawberries in the store can't even compare to the taste of those who grow yourself. Too bad they're not real easy to grow here. Can't put them in the ground at all. And of course, there's the things that want to eat the fruit before I can get to them. Rolling my eyes.

I'm with you on the taste. We have never been able to find any store bought strawberries that compare to ones we grow. Most of the time they aren't very big in size but the flavor is ginormous.
