Ok! Now what will you do with it? Easy to grow if you have room in the ground...lots of room. They they do get large, and will take years to bare fruit, if you have a pollinator near by. I did that too, and was lucky enough that it came true to the parent tree, but after roughly 20 years of care, I had to have it removed because it was a threat to both me and my neighbors if it were to come down during an extremely wet/windy winter. They do need lots of space. I surely do miss that tree...as do lots of neighbors...I kept track that last year...300 avocados off that tree, plus what the tree service salvaged.

Ha! Similar story here, except for the fruit. When I was five years old, I started an avocado from seed, then planted it in "my" little patch of dirt behind our detached garage which was set back from the house. Fast forward a few years, and it loomed beautifully from behind the garage, well above the roof...the first thing you noticed as you drove up the drive. Fast forward many more years to my 30s: I was visiting the folks, and as I drove in—open sky above the garage! They'd had to remove it when the roots started buckling and cracking the slab foundation. I was heartbroken. To my knowledge it never bore fruit, but it sure got big. Hilarious!

I have tried to accomplish this several times without success. Congratulations.

I think it would depend on climate, cultivar, and available pollinator. I don't remember how long it took to bare fruit.

I'm glad to read this post, I didn't know it's lifting, I was plant to plant it near an area where in 30 years it could be lifting the foundation. Thanks for your comment.
