I can make coffee and that's about it when it comes to the kitchen. Kathleen knows if she becomes disable I will have a woman in here that afternoon to do the cooking.

Emma's Curls is one of those daylilies that comes along only once or twice in a life time, it just has everything you could want in a daylily, like it's pod parent Lillian's Womans Touch. See how I slipped in my own TOOT.

I have never been able to set a pod on Lillian's Woman's Touch, they alway abort.. I only see one entry in the AHS database for LWT...That seems odd for a daylily that has been around for 10 years..

I own 3 dips and Lillian's Woman's Touch is one i will alway have..

Doris - I have added LWT - If David hybridizes dip Ufs he will love this one - agin i have only had luck with the pollen but all of the seedlings have 40+ inch scapes and the bud count looks promising, for first year seedlings. All the scapes have been strong, another good trait.

Thanks! I plan to hybridize with it and David will too. Thanks for sharing all this info about LWT. I can put it on something that has a weak scape that I like and try to get stronger scapes on the seedlings. I am already excited about the 2013 season, and it's not even Christmas yet!

LWT is one of my absolute favorite daylilies. I have had great luck with the pollen as well. I finally managed to get a pod to stay til maturity this year Hurray! Bloomed my first seedlings with LWT as a pollen parent this year. Not as nice as Lyle's stuff by a mile but still neat.

I kept both and gave them more room since they were planeted so close tofether. We'll see how they do this year in better conditions.
I really want to cross both with this seedling

I have 2 huge clumps of LWT and it will always be here. I didn't try to set pods last year because I mainly have it for a show flower, but since I had 2 clumps this year I used it and sets several pods on it.

I have seedlings planted from

LWT x Lillian's Vapor Trails
LWT x Rose F Kennedy
LWT x Crashing the Crease
LWT x Opps Another Miracle

I probably would of had more but I didn't try setting pods on it until after all the shows were done.

Lyle and others using LWT, I have never had it under shade cloth and do not know if this makes a difference, I also do not set a lot of pods on it even though I will try every bloom, it is stubborn. I set seed on it this year from
WILD DREAMS
ROSE KENNEDY
EMERAL STARBURST
OOPS ANOTHER MIRACLE

Will see most of these bloom this coming spring and summer.
Nice seedlings Kim.

I use those little stiff paper/cardboard tags that you can purchase at office supply places or WalMart, write the crosses on them, and then loop the strings around them just at the bottom of the blooms where they attach to the scapes. That way when I collect pods I can do several at once and not get confused. I know others use colored paper clips, etc., too.
