Sometimes I have a bulb put up two successful stalks and then a third which aborts soon after it begin to emerge from the bulb. The plants continues to grow and put up plenty of foliage. Have you seen this happen before?

I also see this once in a while. At least you got flowers. I have a newly purchased "Hollywood" which has aborted its first and only scape. The leaves are big, and the bulb looks OK otherwise, it just seems to have changed its mind about blooming.
